An investigation on cyclists' safety and feeling of safety/security in relation to cycle tracks, cycle lanes and various designs of intersections.

  • In the last 10 years, safety had improved on road sections (injuries fallen by 4%), as a consequence of the construction of cycle tracks. On the other hand, safety has declines at intersections (18% injuries). Together: 9-10% increase in accidents.

    Cyclists feel safest on roads with cycle tracks (in stead of road with mixed traffic) and at signalised intersections with a blue cycle crossing.
