Thanks to the “Try an E-Bike” initiative held in 2011, organisations near ’s-Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Breda or Helmond were able to offer trial home-to-work commuting by electric bicycle. About eleven hundred Brabant residents could as a result experience what it is like to go to work on an e-bike. A tally following the trial showed that the e-bike satisfied 84% of the expectations. Two thirds of the participants see it as a suitable transport vehicle for commuting. Participants were also stimulated to actually acquire an e-bike for commuting. After the trial, 16% did so and 35% considered doing so.
