In the past a tightly drawn Green Belt protected the courtryside surrounding Cambridge and so growth was limited. Recent decisions allow the building of 12,500 houses around the edges of the city; a 40% increase in population. A unique opportunity to prioritise cycling as a mode of transport and plan a wider city cycle network for the future.
