'Driving slowly is faster' leads to crossing problems

LARGAS, the Dutch acronym for Driving slowly is faster, has been applied for the first time in Hilversum, an evaluation of which has just been published.


  • Essentially Largas encompasses a system of traffic engineering measures aimed at making speeds of motor vehicles more uniform. Fietsersbond considers the results of LARGAS from a cyclist’s point of view, among others with an example of roundabouts with priority for cyclists.
