Thats a great idea, but what about using the idle time waiting to generate some energy ... like a device that allows you to keep pedling but moving to wheels under the bicylcles wheels (like a dynamo ?) ... This energy could go into cells and power the traffic light  or even a few street lights to the road ? I am no engineer, but seeing how many bicycles there are in the Netherlands, and accomodating cyclist with road traffic .... there must be some way to put this to use than only hav
