Lancashire is aiming at launching a new cycle-oriented European project in the STEER framework

Lancashire County Council (North West England) is doing a partner search on ‘Targeted promotion of cycling in cities with low to medium cycle use’. The project is targeted towards the STEER (energy efficient transport) strand of the current Intelligent Energy Europe call. The call has a deadline of 24 June 2010.
The proposed project seeks to reduce energy use by increasing cycling in small-to-medium sized cities with low or medium cycle use, through the use of targeted promotion and new media. Specific target groups will include children and young people, women, and newly-retired people.
