Helmond has placed warning signs in 6 locations. The signs warn users of the risk of bike theft.

Every year about 1000 bike theft declarations are filed with the municipality of Helmond. The campaign with the slogan: “Bike thief: If only I were so easy to spot” intends to make inhabitants of Helmond more aware of the risks of bike theft. In addition to six warning bikes parked around town, a number of activities in the city centre have been planned. City centre visitors are approached by “bike thieves” who ask: “Did you lock your bike properly?” or “Did you park it in view in an illuminated area?”. Furthermore, they hand out rebate vouchers for bike locks sold by bicycle shops in Helmond that take part in the campaign.
