Partially hidden beneath the completely renovated square in front of Leiden Centraal train station lies a magnificent location to park your bicycle. Users are ecstatic. The single negative remark concerns the size: it is already filled to the limit. The authorities are mainly concerned about the intended use of the exit and entrance.
There will be another new facility for 3600 bicycles, one third of which will consist of new places, with the remaining two-thirds meant as replacements. This is still the subject of discussions with ProRail and NS, particularly concerning the exact location, as the authorities are very well aware that the 10.000 cyclists would all prefer a space ten metres from an entrance to the train station.
