The Haarlem Municipality is launching a trial with the LED&'s Parksysteem in the bike park under the station square. The LED&'s Parksysteem helps cyclists in finding a free parking spot. Dynamic signs and red and green illumination guide cyclists to available parking spaces.

The aim of this trial is to make the bike park not only more user-friendly, but also more efficient. Current occupation levels in the underground bike park are around 80%. The bike detection system guides cyclist to the remaining free spaces. Bikes that have overstayed their welcome, and abandoned bikes can be more quickly identified and removed. The trial is part of a larger scheme to reduce bicycle parking nuisance.
